We have all been there...the hunt for the perfect faux plant for the perfect space. You drive from store to store, only to find weird, brightly colored glue exposed arrangements that look like they belong at the 99 cent store. If you are like me, I'm pretty selective when it comes to resourcing faux plants. While we know these decorative accessories, cannot pass for the real thing, I still like to try to get close to the resemblance of a real plant. So, when all else fails and you just can't seem to find exactly what you are looking for, it's time to create it!! This is so easy, you kids can do it.

Here are a couple of steps to get you started. First, search for a great container. When you are selecting the container, try to follows the lines of the piece of furniture that it will sit on or think about the space that it will fill. Next, select your faux plants (these topiaries were each individual and very easy to work with). If needed, grab some filler to use in open areas under your faux plants. I like to use dried grass, moss and decorative rocks. This will also help cover up any forms that you are using to stabilize the arrangement. I had some left over packaging material in my studio which helped me to achieve the height of the arrangement. Foam and sticks are also a good idea to keep things in place. Stuff you container, place your plants, arrange and glue! It's that easy. If you have any questions, you know where to find me.
