While I'm a big fan of using color in interior design, sometimes less is more when it comes to the Master Bedroom. I tend to design Master spaces in monochromatic color palettes, simply because I think it helps in keeping the space calm, relaxing and cohesive. Now, if you are creating a new space in a guest room or kids room, don't be afraid to take some risks in these areas.

I'm drawn to blue for so many different reasons. It could be a gray-blue, turquoise blue or deep navy blue. I love them all! Blue is a very calming color, that can make you feel centered, relaxed and serene. It is known to help lower blood pressure, clear the mind and help steady one's breathing. Blue makes me think of the beach, rolling waves and walking in the sand, or a tropical oasis, and taking an afternoon nap on a hammock with the breeze blowing in the palm trees. Try a shade of blue in your bedroom, you won't be disappointed. I painted my bedroom Sherwin Williams Respite SW 6514 over 10 years ago, and I still love it as much today, as the day my painter said "I'm all done, come check it out"! Some of my favorite Sherwin Williams Paint colors are below.
