Paint a bookcase an unexpected color...by adding a splash of color to any bookcase or alcove, it creates depth and gives the eye an area that it wants to examine further.  Try painting shelves a complimentary or monochromatic color schemes-this is an easy DIY project, that adds a lot!

Use curtains behind a headboard for added interest and to create a focal point in a room...Introducing texture is a great way to take any design to the next level.  People want to reach out and touch texture, which makes it a very appealing element to incorporate in design.  Surpass the original idea of the standard curtain panel and look at sheets & table cloths for inspiration.
